TOL Application

Course Overview and Expectations:

Teaching Online (TOL) is a four-week, instructor-led online certification course designed for all UNF instructors. Participants will explore topics such as instructor presence, student engagement, accessibility, course facilitation, and assessment to ensure the delivery of high-quality online courses.


Participants are expected to complete all assignments with a minimum score of 80%. The estimated time investment is 3-5 hours weekly. Upon successfully completing all course activities and assignments, participants will be awarded a stipend and certified to deliver distance-learning courses at UNF.


Application Process for Permanent Faculty

  • Review the course’s cohort dates and other information on the Faculty Development Model website.

  • Permanent faculty can apply for the course using this application.

Application Process for Adjunct and Visiting Faculty

  • Review the course’s cohort dates and other information on the Faculty Development Model website.

  • Department chairs use this form to nominate adjuncts and visiting faculty for TOL.

  • If the faculty member you nominate for the course does not have an N#, please provide their email address.

  • To ensure that TOL enrollment is reserved for faculty with immediate training needs, department chairs should only nominate adjunct and visiting faculty who have confirmed distance learning teaching assignments for the upcoming academic term. Faculty members not scheduled to teach a distance learning course in the next academic term are not eligible for nomination. Please wait until they have a confirmed assignment before submitting their nomination.
